Euro Icons: BMW e32 740i And Mercedes w124 500E
I’m starting a new series called ‘Euro Icons’. I’m starting with two of my favorite sedans: The BMW 740i and the Mercedes Benz 500E. Both timeless modern design from the late 80s. The BMW was designed by Ercole Spada and Hans Kerschbaum working under the guidance of then-chief designer Claus Luthe. The W124, considered by many as the last real Benz, was developed by perhaps one of the best designers ever to lay pen to paper, Bruno Sacco.
